The emergency department is located near the main entrance. As you turn into the driveway turn right to access the patient drop-off loop and emergency department parking area.

If you need help immediately, call 911.

To access the mental health mobile crisis team call 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.

Visitors are welcome throughout the day with some exceptions. Please check with nursing staff.

Parking is located near the main entrance and next to the emergency department. 

Colchester East Hants Health Centre has a paid parking lot for patients and visitors. When you enter the parking lot you will be given a ticket. Take this ticket with you into the hospital. When you leave the hospital, you can pay for parking at the machines located by the main entrance and emergency department entrance. These machines accept cash, debit, Visa and Mastercard. 

Visa and Mastercard can also be used to pay at the parking gate upon exit. 

The following rates apply:

• $2 per hour up to a maximum of $5 per visit.

Special long term parking passes are available for $15 per week through the cashier's office (located on level 1, next to ATM machine) during regular business hours (Monday to Friday:  8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

• Private room: Includes one bed and one washroom. You can find current rates here.
• Semi-private room: Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom. You can find current rates here.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.

When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

During your stay, tv and phone service is available in your room.

All patients have access to free local phone service and radio.

Daily rates will apply for tv services.

Patients that have semi-private or private rooms will receive basic cable TV services.

You can purchase basic cable or premium packages with premium cable and internet for daily rates between $13.80 and $23.00 a day (plus tax).

Accommodation services clerks are available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to set up access. 

During your stay, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. Our dietary team offers a patient meal service with flexible hours. The hours of service are:    

• Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
• Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Supper: 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

You can find the menu on your bedside terminal by pressing the "food menus" button, and then selecting the appropriate menu according to your diet. Paper copies are also available from your nurse.

Once you have made your choices you can place your order using the phone on your bedside terminal. Dial 44444 to reach our call center and one of our staff will take your order. You can expect to receive your selected meal within 45 minutes.

Family members/care givers outside the hospital may also place orders by calling 902-893–5465 during the hours for room service listed above. This can be done for each meal or for multiple meals in advance.

Coffee shop, level 1, beside the Blood Collection Clinic. 
Hours of operation:
Monday to Thursday:  8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday:  Noon to 7p.m. 
Holidays: Noon to 6 p.m. 

Vending machines can be found in the cafeteria, by our inpatient units (level 3) and near the emergency department.

Bank machines are located near the main entrance (next to cashier’s office) and in the emergency department.

A prayer room is located on the second level beside the healing garden. It is open 24 hours a day. Spiritual care services are available to provide you and your family with spiritual and emotional support. Clergy representatives from all denominations are on-call to help meet your needs. Talk to your nursing staff for more information.
